TASK 4 REFLECTION

What are two pieces of information researched that you were most surprised to learn about the topic, and for each, why?

I was surprised to find out how much of an affect this has had on the world. I didn’t believe that it was a global problem effecting so many people. I was also shocked about how many African children are orphaned due to their parents being killed by AIDS.

What are two new questions about the topic, based on the new knowledge gained, that you have, and why?

How did this disease go so unnoticed until it was too late?

With the recent pandemic going on today, are there still HIV/AIDS relief efforts active for people in developing countries suffering from HIV/AIDS?

What is the main point that you feel must be emphasized when discussing the topic, and why?

HIV+ people and communities affected by HIV shouldn’t be discriminated against and treated unfairly due to fear of the disease. People who are affected by this should receive fair treatment and be respected. Also, understanding how HIV is transmitted and who is at risk should be emphasized in order to stop the disease from spreading.
